Who Cares about Advertising and Media?


Or, you should!  No matter how much money you have to spend, you don't want to waste it.  The need to be a smart consumer never goes out of style. 

You want to buy a product because it is the best thing for your needs, not because you are confused into thinking it will make you popular, happier, or stronger (when it won't!).

So, how do you protect yourself?

You figure out what advertisers are really selling.  This way you know you're buying what you need, and not what advertiser make you think you need.

Welcome to our unit on advertising and media. 

By the end of this unit you will be a smarter viewer of advertising.  A famous provider of circus entertainment once said "There is a sucker born every minute."  At the end of this unit, that sucker will not be you.
