Lehman Library invites you to come and view an array of displays recognizing Black achievement, past and present, in Honor of Black History month.

Our main floor gallery features a select display of Black inventors and their patented devices, which will remain throughout the month of February.  Interested in learning more about Black leadership in innovation and design?  Check out:  A Hammer in Their Hands: A Documentary History of Technology and the African-American Experience

We are also highlighting a display cabinet curated from the Archives with a focus on Black life at Shippensburg University!  If you would like to explore what else the Archive has to offer, the archives is open on a walk-in basis for research on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, from 5:00-9:30pm.

Our main floor also features a display highlighting contemporary Black authors.  From novels to short stories to graphic novels, covering a range of realistic fiction to far future sci-fi and topics as diverse as immigration, mental health, and humorous social commentary, there is something here for everyone to enjoy.  And the best part is that you don’t have to physically check them out – they are all a convenient part of our e-book collection!  Simply scan the associated QR code and you can read them digitally on your device using your Shippensburg login.
