Helpful Hints

The director should be credited as author. If unknown, credit someone in a similar role with a description. For ex: (Guest Expert).

If the format is important for retrieving the specific version of the film you watched, put additional information after the word film in brackets. For ex: [Film; four-disc special extended ed. on DVD].

To quote directly from audiovisual work, provide a time stamp for the beginning of the quotation in place of a page number - i.e. (Cuddy, 2012, 2:12).

When you access a TED Talk on the TED website, the author in your citation will be the speaker in the talk. If you access the talk through YouTube, the uploader (TED) will be the author, and you'll include the speaker's name before the title.

Put the episode number after the title in parentheses. If there's no number, leave that part out.

If you accessed the podcast using an app and don't know the URL, omit it.
