Station 4: Telling Traveler’s Tales on and off the Early Modern Stage

In Act 1, Scene 3, Othello speaks of being a traveler, and how his various tales wooed Desdemona. His speech suggests the various allures of such narratives. Using EEBO, in conjunction with DEEP, our library databases, our course’s other digital tools, and especially the provided print bibliographies, find compelling literary texts that engage in some version of a traveler’s tale or travel narrative. These might be other plays, but they could be prose narratives or even collections of verse (you do not need to limit yourself to tragedies). Document what you find below using an MLA bibliographic citation, and be prepared to discuss how you came to your selections.
