Remote learning: How to request books from Lehman Library

For students who are off-campus while SU is running its adjusted schedule for COVID-19, we will mail physical ILL items and physical library collection items to the address we have on record in your ILLiad account. If you have a local Shippensburg address that is different than your home address, be sure it is noted in your ILLiad account or email libcirc@ship.edu.

To update your address in ILLiad:

  • Login to ILLiad
  • Click "Change User Information"
  • Update your address information
  • Click "Submit Information"

Note that there will be a specific due date & that the borrower (you) will be responsible for return shipping.

Please note that students are responsible for return shipping costs.

Distance learners, students who do not have regular classes on the Shippensburg campus, have the following options for submitting resource requests:

  • Using InterLibrary Loan for books
    • If you would like books delivered to your home address you may request them using ILLiad
    • Please make a note in the notes field in ILLiad that you are requesting a Lehman Library book.
    • Normally, we will mail interlibrary loan books to you within two weeks after receiving your request.
    • Books will be mailed to the address you provided when you registered in ILLiad as a first-time user.
    • Textbooks may not be requested via Interlibrary Loan

Instructions regarding returning library items

  1. Graduating students and ILL requestors should return books or materials via UPS or USPS.  Please return these items in sufficient packaging to reduce damage in transit.
  2. Students may also contact 717-477-1461 or libcirc@ship.edu for assistance with all of the above.
