Exhibit: What’s New from the Archives - Fall 2024

by Heather Glasby on 2024-10-01T12:45:48-04:00 | 0 Comments

A display cabinet featuring fraternity paddles, a mascot head, a school pennant, a freshman beaning and plaque, a football player’s autographed photo, and a fancy serving dish.

Just in time for Archives Month in October, and Shippensburg University Homecoming weekend October 18, the University Archives & Special Collections has put together a fascinating new display featuring a unique set of items exploring the history of our campus and community.  This year’s display includes an elementary student’s school slate used at the Cumberland Valley State Normal School’s accompanying Lab School circa 1875; a collection of commemorative campus pins; wooden coins featuring campus buildings, a freshman beanie cap and identification plaque circa 1966; examples of Fraternity paraphernalia, and much more!
