First Year Experience instruction at Lehman Library is designed to compliment classwork by introducing first year students to information literacy concepts and library resources. Students will:

Describe different information platforms (University Funded resources/Library website/ Library services, Free &social media driven information (Wikipedia, Facebook, etc) and strengths and weaknesses of both

Identify different source types (Monographs vs Serials, Scholarly, News, Encyclopedia,), and describe their use (based on scope and audience)

Identify different types of authority and describe source of reliability

Recognize how they use IL in daily life (day-to-day vs academic)
