GeoRef is focused on comprehensive coverage of geology and geoscience literature and is the most in-depth A&I database available for the geoscience literature and research.
ScienceDirect: Subscribed Content
This database indexes all journals, books, and reference works published by Elsevier, one of the world's largest and most important scientific publishers. Can limit search to subscribed content but can also identify articles to obtain through InterLibrary loan services.

GEOBASE (Engineering Village)
GEOBASE covers international geoscience and geography literature, with an emphasis on human and physical geography, ecology, geology, oceanography, geomechanics and international development studies/impacts.

Our most comprehensive search tool. It searches simultaneously most of our library databases, including all our EBSCO databases and the library catalog, among others. Use Ship Discovery Search to locate all our books, ebooks, and videos, as well as our magazine and journal articles in all databases. It provides additional access to news articles and dissertations. Use it in combination with ProQuest All Databases Search.

Google Scholar
This database, freely available from Google, is one of the most important scholarly databases, especially in the natural and social sciences. It brings the power of Google to the search for academic/scholarly publications, including journal articles, books, theses and dissertations, and other research documents. Google creates this database from "academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, universities and other web sites" -- website. It has incredibly powerful citation searching features, which enable you to easily locate sources that cite a particular document (using the "Cited by" feature) and to find similar documents which often share related citations (using the "Related Articles" feature).

When using Google Scholar off campus, be sure to set your Scholar Preferences to use the Shippensburg University proxy to access library full-text through the "Full-Text@My Library" linking feature.

America: History & Life
America: History & Life is the definitive database for scholarly literature covering the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present. It provides indexing for 1,700 journals from the late 1950s to the present, and includes records for scholarly journal articles, historical magazine articles and dissertations. Historical Abstracts is a companion database covering scholarly literature about the rest of world history from 1450 to the present.

ProQuest Historical Newspapers
Shippensburg subscribes to this vast collection of historical newspapers, including the complete contents of nine national newspapers, such as the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and Wall Street Journal. Use the "Change databases" option to select all historical papers.
Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers (1836-1922)
This is an extraordinary archive of some 4000 digitized U. S. newspapers from the late 18th Century to the mid -20th century. This freely available resource is produced by the Library of Congress.
