Today's post was prepared by Kimberly Braet, Library Graduate Assistant.
November 11th, 1918, is regarded as the end of hostilities in the First World War, thus establishing November 11th as the official Veterans Day to commemorate our veterans (United States Department of Veterans Affairs). At Shippensburg University, we provide services and resources to our students and community to celebrate our veterans year-round, not just on Veterans Day. Our university is recognized as a Gold-Status Military Friendly School, a measure of our excellence in “commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for the military community” (Military Friendly: Frequently Asked Questions).
Thank you to all who put their life on hold to serve this country. If you or a loved one would like to access available resources for veterans or to learn more about this day of commemoration and careful conversation, please visit the VA Resources and Support pages.
