The Archives & Special Collections has unveiled a new exhibit on the second floor of Lehman Library  which will remain on display through September 2023.  The two cases display an array of scrapbooks created by the Shippensburg campus community from 1895 through 2000. This exhibit uses scrapbooks to show a range of topics including herbaria, campus life, sports, and early buildings on campus.

Scrapbooks document the story of the lives of the students who created them.  They are a valuable resource for research and provide evidence of history and culture and add depth beyond the official institutional memory.  These types of scrapbooks are a long-forgotten tradition.  Shippensburg University Archives cares for over 80 scrapbooks that include class, academic, sports, herbarium, and individuals.
