On March 31, the library celebrates Transgender Day of Visibility. Transgender Day of Visibility was founded in 2009 as a day to celebrate the transgender community and their contributions to society and to raise awareness about discrimination against transgender people.
Until April 3, the library will have a display of books and biographies of transgender writers on the main level for you to peruse. If you see something that interests you, you can check books out right from the display! Simply take them up to the circulation desk. Feel free to pick up a pronoun pin during your visit!
DON’T FORGET!
Mark your calendars for March 28, from 1-2 pm and join us in Lehman Library room 205 where the PAGE Center will host a presentation of Transcending Visibility, a Photo series by Gabe Darling. Gabe is a black non-binary femme from Central PA who uses their art to explore the intersections of their identity with a focus on gender, race, and mental health. The Transcending Visibility photo series focuses on transgender and non-binary folks in the local community. The goal of the series is to show that the transgender experience is varied and can exist happily in a small town.
