September 17 is designated as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787. Learn more about the U.S. Constitution through the National Archives.

Constitution Day Celebration - Recitation of the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States

Check out the event on Monday, September 19, 2022 10-11am in the Library Plaza (in case of anticipated weather, the event will move to Memorial Auditorium). Dean of Libraries Dr. Michelle Foreman will be reciting the Preamble to the Constitution with children attending Grades 4-5 of the Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School.

If you'd like to prepare, feel free to practice the Preamble along with Schoolhouse Rock:
