The core mission of Keeping America Informed, dated to 1813 when Congress determined to make information regarding the work of the three branches of Government available to all Americans. The U.S Government Printing Office (GPO) provides publishing & dissemination services for the official & authentic government publications to Congress, Federal agencies, Federal depository libraries, & the American public.

Federal Depository Library

The mission of the Federal Depository Program is to provide for no-fee ready and permanent public access to Federal Government information , now and for future generations.

Shippensburg University has been a Selective Federal Depository Library since 1973 and provides access to electronic format and online products from Government Printing Office Federal Digital Sysytems (FDsys) http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/ and database from Catalog of Government Publication http://catalog.gpo.gov/F
