Library: Policies

Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School Library

GBLUES Library Policies and Procedures

Scheduling

  • Scheduling of classroom library checkout times is completed prior to the beginning of the academic year.
  • Individual and small groups of students are allowed to come to the library throughout the day as needed to check out materials, use the chrome books, work on research projects, read for pleasure, and other school activities. Some of these activities may not be available if the library classroom is in use.
  • Schedule use of library classroom is required with Ms. Orseno (eworseno@ship.edu) and Ms. Smith (ljsmit@ship.edu).

Rules

  • All library users are asked to respect the library property and use the materials, furniture, equipment, and other peripherals with care. Please return the classroom and/or reading area to its former setup when you have finished using the area.
  • University patrons and GBLUES students are asked to return library books by the scheduled due date, or earlier if they finish prior to that date.  This enables resources to be available to all patrons as much as possible
  • All library users are required to follow current SU Covid protocol when in the Luhrs Library.
