Community Patron Card Policy

As a service to area residents who are not affiliated with the University, Lehman Library offers borrowing privileges through a Community Patron Card. Applicants must be 18 years of age and present identification in the form of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

High school students are encouraged to borrow materials through interlibrary loan at their high school libraries. Otherwise, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the student to the library and make application on the student's behalf.

Annual Fee: $10.00. All Community Patron Cards expire one year from the date of issue.

Loan Period: The loan period for books is 28 days with the possibility of one 28 day renewal.

Borrowing Policies: Community Patrons may charge out 15 items from the circulating general collection, the government documents collection, or the Media/Curricular Collection. Videos/DVD's and music CD's are limited to 3 each per person. The loan period for these items is 14 days.

Please note that the online catalog is available off-campus but access to the online databases is only available to community patrons on campus.

Reference books, reserve materials, and periodicals may not be borrowed.

Community Patrons are not eligible to use the Library's Interlibrary Loan, UBorrow or E-ZBorrow services.

The Community Patron Cardholder is responsible for all materials borrowed on the card and is subject to established overdue fines and replacement costs. An individual not returning materials after proper notification has been given will be prosecuted under P.L.106 of 1970.
