The collection of 2D fine arts is on display in the library main gallery from Oct 10-29, 2014.
The lecture on "The Dragonsfyre Trilogy: Publishing in the 21st Century" will be held on Thursday October 23, 2014 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in library room 205.
Using his first novel, The Drogonsfyre Trilogy: Book One - Mask of the Cavalier, author J. R. Woltz will explain the process of publishing in the modern era. A main focus will include the often subtle differences in publishing terminologies of Mainstream (commercial), Independent, and Self-Publishing and what each entails. The broadest of layman's terms will be utilized and should be informative and easily understood by all, including college students regardless of year-level, undergraduate or graduate. Also included will be a brief segment on the author as artist and the processes of rendering/publishing art and its incorporation into his literary work.
Artist's Promotional Statement:
"For artist and author J. R. Woltz, the experience of art, whether it be as literature, fine art, music, or sculpture, must move him equally on three fundamental levels - intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Remove one of these stimuli and he tends to reject the work out of hand. As such, for his own art, Woltz has embarked on an ambitious project of rendering those works which transcend our own time and place, sweeping us away to an age where the ideals once envisioned by those of an astute nature have not been lost. Some of the works are part of an existing series, while others are "studies" rendered in anticipation of those series yet to come."
